The 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) serves as the dedicated special operations aviation element within our Joint Task Force. Purpose-built for precision, adaptability, and mission dominance, the 160th delivers rotary-wing combat power across the full spectrum of operations in Arma. We are not simply transport pilots - we are an integral maneuver element of the battlefield, shaping conditions before boots ever hit the ground.
The 160th SOAR (A) provides direct, responsive aviation support to all JTF ground components. Our crews specialize in night operations, ultra-low-level flight profiles, degraded visual environments, brownout and whiteout landings, and complex multi-ship mission sets that demand disciplined planning and flawless execution. Every mission is approached with deliberate coordination, detailed rehearsal, and a shared understanding that precision timing can determine success or failure.
Our operational focus is straightforward: Place combat power exactly where it needs to be, when it needs to be there, under any battlefield conditions.
The regiment operates rotary-wing platforms configured specifically for special operations mission profiles. These include:
Precision air assault and direct action support
Special reconnaissance insertion and extraction
Close air support and armed overwatch
Casualty evacuation under fire
Aerial resupply and external sling load operations
Long-range infiltration and exfiltration in contested airspace
Whether inserting Rangers onto a fortified objective, providing armed overwatch for a Delta assault force, inserting reconnaissance elements deep behind enemy lines, or sustaining mechanized elements operating forward of friendly lines, 160th aircraft are integrated into every phase of the fight. From shaping operations to extraction, our crews remain synchronized with the ground commander’s intent.
"Night Stalkers Don’t Quit."
Our aviators and crew chiefs train and operate as a unified combat team. Communication clarity, formation discipline, air-to-ground integration, and tactical patience define our standard. Multi-ship coordination, internal air-to-air communication, real-time adjustments in dynamic combat environments, and seamless integration with JTACs and ground force commanders are not optional - they are baseline expectations.
